Ring of Beara Cycle

Several of the WOW’s and their friends took on the challenge of the Ring of Beara cycle recently.  This cycle is one of the most picturesque in the country and is a massive social event.

The 140 km route is all around the Beara peninsula taking in the villages of Achilles, Castletownbere and Glengarriff.  Some strong hills and climbs tested the stamina of the participants with all getting around safely.  The event was extremely well marshalled with plenty of rest and food stops throughout the day.

A few tandem cyclists, mountain bikers and even a penny farthing cyclist was spotted on the course.
